They learn that Tucker is up for his annual re-certification as a State Alchemist and that last year's didn't go to well, that he had barely passed, so now he's worried about this up coming one. The episode ends when Ed and Al find the remains.įull Summary: Ed and Al continue their stay at the Tucker Residence, playing with Nina and Alexander. They are found by the strange man from earlier who's kills them, saying their a sin against nature and in pain. Not wanting them to experiment on Nina, Ed crashes their car but Nina/Alexander runs off. Soon after, Grand shows up and takes both Tucker and the chimera away. Ed immediately realizes it's Nina and Alexander and Tucker admits to having transmuted his own daughter and dog. Tucker calls them into the next room where they find his latest creation, another talking chimera.

But the next night Ed and Al sneak back into his house to find a basement full of chimera. After Grand catches word that Ed had been wanting information on the chimera, he forces them to leave the Tuckers' Residence.
Ed goes to see Hughes to get more information on the chimera but all he has to tell him is the only thing it said was "I want to die" and then stopped eating and passed away after that. The man quickly runs off after that and talks to himself about some curse his brother's given him, referring to his arm. On his way out Ed helps a guard keep a strange man out of the library, ripping the man's sleeve on accident, revealing a strange tattoo. Ed goes to the Nation Central Library to do research on Tucker's chimera but one of the employees there tells him that those files are unable to be accessed without Brigadier General Basque Grand's permission. He finds it strange that she left just before Tucker made the talking chimera and became a State Alchemist, the burned up letter Nina wrote to her mother that Edward finds only helps his suspicions.
Ed grows suspicious of Tucker after hearing the stories about how and why his wife left. Short Summary: Tucker is up for his annual re-certification as a State Alchemist. And the brothers find themselves caught up in the middle of something more grave and dangerous than they could have imagined. The truth about the Philosopher's Stone, the State Military, other alchemist, and homunculi begins to unravel. Through this journey the brothers meet allies and enemies, including those that are also after the Philosopher's Stone. Edward managed to bind Alphonse's soul to a suit of armor, sacrificing his right arm. Edward received an automail leg and arm thanks to his friend, Winry Rockbell, and her grandmother, Pinako. Years later, Edward becomes a State Alchemist in order to gain access to more research material.
This attempt failed and in the process Edward lost his left leg and Alphonse lost his entire body. When they were young their mother died from a terminal illness, devastated by her death the two boys ignored the rules against using Human Transmutation, and attempted to bring their mother back to life. Edward and Alphonse Elric are two alchemist brothers who are searching for something called the Philosopher's Stone, in hopes that it can help them return their bodies back to normal.
